Consecration of the Parish of St. Pius X to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and MaryOn December 12th, Msgr. Juan Rodriguez Alba, Vicar General, consecrated the Parish of St. Pius X in the city of Leon in Guanajuato. In his homily he spoke of the importance of giving continuity to what the parish community had began on May 3rd with the Marian Congress of Consecration, where with the participation of the Mission, they were told of the spiritual maternity of Our Lady of Guadalupe. At that time, the emphasis was on bringing people to the maternal Heart of Mary so She would no longer be someone distant to them but rather their permanent Protectress, Teacher and Model of Christian life, for She is Our Mother!The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of Mexico, made possible a new encounter between the parish community and Our Mother, to achieve the consecration of each of the attendees to Her Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart and to the Most Sacred Heart of Her Son.Monsignor also noted that consecration was important because God takes us so His plans may be carried out in our life; that consecration makes us aware that we cannot stand against the difficult times we are living in alone, that we need to return to God our Father through Mary. The relic image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was enthroned formally and solemnly after communion. The act of consecration of the Parish followed and then the faithful who were present, approximately 800 people, joined that consecration, giving their ‘yes’ to God through the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Afterwards, the future missionaries who are part of the family ministry approached the altar to receive from Monsignor Rodriguez the blessing of their images. These missionaries have been in preparation and have gone through the enthronement of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the home visits program so they could then share this experience with the People of God. At the end of the Mass, the members of the ministry registered the families who were interested in receiving Our Lady of Guadalupe in their homes.We would like to thank in a special way the radio station “Comunica Luz” for having dedicated a special spot for 30 days prior to the consecration, to prepare and sensitize as many faithful as possible.
