Consecration of the State of Quintana Roo

The State of Quintana Roo was Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.The event took place with the participation of over 5,000 people in the Concert “Open Sky” in Chetumal, where there was an overwhelming presence of young people.Chetumal, Quintana Roo, March 15th, 2014More than 5,000 people witnessed the renewal of the Consecration of the State of Quintana-Roo to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The solemn act began by the Mass presided by Msgr. Pedro Pablo Elizondo, Bishop of the Prelature Cancun-Chetumal, at the Minor Seminary of Chetumal, with an overwhelming presence of young people. During the homily the bishop declared that God has a very particular love for each one of His children and that He wishes true and everlasting happiness for each of us. When addressing the youth, Msgr. Elizondo denounced the evil of consumerism and stressed that “life goes by so fast and youth goes by even faster. Take advantage of this privileged time, now that you are healthy, strong, enthusiastic, with zest for life; do something grand, do something worthy, do “something” for Christ and for your brothers in need. Do not spend your life wasting your precious time. At the end of your life all that remains is that you may have done for others”. Before concluding the celebration, he knelt to make a prayer for the unborn children together with Bishop Emeritus, Msgr. Jorge Bernal, entrusting them to God. He also declared that the renewal of the Consecration of the state, which was done on April 15th, 2012, had the purpose of placing the families, citizens and cities under the protection of the Virgin Mary so that there is more peace in society, and more harmony and unity in families.
