The Archdiocese and the State of Yucatan were Consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and MaryOn Friday September 14th, te city of Merida as well as the Archdiocese and the State of Yucatan were consecrated to the Two Hearts in a Solemn Mass of Consecration at the Cathedral which was presided by the Archbishop, Msgr. Emilio Carlos Berlie, and attended by the governor of Yucatan and the mayor of Merida, as well as by the representatives of the different apostolic movements and 2,500 faithful.In his homily, Msgr. Berlie stated that "the world needs God, Mexico needs God! That is why we are gathered tonight to ask our Lord to grant us the gift of His peace and the strength of His Spirit to continue pursuing the progress of our country in the paths of justice and peace...consecrating our lives to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in proof of our filial affection and with a truly grateful heart".During the weekend, masses of consecration continued to be held throughout the different parishes of the state, consecrating a total of 252,500 people to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. |
