There is good news and bad news...as always. The good news as told to me yesterday by my doctors is that very surprisingly the chemo, which is now finished, has reduced the tumor and lesions to some degree. The bad news was that their prognosis now stands at 11 months left. There is however a new development in the bowel and colon which is giving daily pain which must be studied to see if the cancer is spreading. Never a dull moment.I have been telling people that line from I think an American movie that says...it ain't over till the fat lady sings. Consequently I am staying away from all fat ladies. Until the Will of God is truly manifested in this whole affair I am going about my life as if this is just another of those things in life that each one of us must deal with from time to time. For me this has been a time which I am very grateful to Our Father for allowing me to receive it.It has given me time to prepare which so many people never get. This in itself is for me a great, great grace. It also has allowed me to contemplate my death, a subject that most of us unfortunately never wish to consider. It has allowed me to examine my faith and trust in God. In this way over the last eight months I have learned that my love of God is real and profound. I truly believe deep in my soul that God really exists and that He loves me. With this understanding there is nothing now that I fear by the grace of God. Not even death itself. My trust in God thru the gift of the Holy Spirit is now complete. I am completely in His hands and it is a wonderful feeling. Whether I live 11 months or the next 11 years is not the question. The question is in the time that I have left what do I do with it to glorify the gift of life My Father has given to me.It is a difficult time but a truly blessed time for me...thank God.Thank you all for your continual prayers. It has been a real source of the strength of love for me....thank you all from the bottom of my heart. As to the Mission that God has entrusted to us, it keeps on going in many wonderful ways. By the grace of God I sincerely hope that I may be able to see all of you at the congress of the Mission in Ecuador the last weekend of September. It will be great to see you.I will, by the grace of God, continue to let you know what is happening as I fully intend through your prayers to fight this as is my responsibility and if it may be the Will of God, I may be cured. If it is the Will of God that it is my time to return home then hopefully someone may take a picture at that blessed time as I truly hope you will see the biggest smile ever seen.God love you all. With loveRick
