On August 5th 2017, the Mission actively participated in the vespers procession for the renewal of the Consecration of Ecuador to the Immaculate Heart of Mary which took place on August 6th, 1892.

The procession began at the Basilica of the National Vow, House of the original image of the Consecration to the Heart of Mary, and went to the Parish of San Sebastián where it was met by “cucuruchos” and musicians and then went on to the Monument of Our Lady of Legarda, at Panecillo, where the Holy Mass was celebrated.

The procession was a propitious moment for the faithful to raise their pleas to God Almighty for the peace in Ecuador and throughout the world. They prayed also that the Blessed Virgin would continue interceding for all the needs of the world and that with Her maternal care, She would guide Her children through the path that leads to Her Son.
