On October 2th, at the invitation of Msgr. Danilo Echeverría, Auxiliary Bishop of Quito of the Pastoral for the Family, the Mission was able to participate in the visit to the homes of Chone, Province of Manabi, to provide spiritual support to the people of this city that were affected by the earthquake last April 16th. According to the previous meeting that was held with the religious sisters of the congregation “Servants of the Mother’s Home”, a visit door to door to the homes of the neighborhoods Aurora and Dos Bocas was organized. These neighborhoods are in the outskirts of Chone, and have basic infrastructure and high population. The visits to the homes were done in company of the local catechists that were of great help to the Mission members. Each home was given the message of love of Jesus and Mary and the certainty that, in spite of all their suffering, the Divine Mercy of God has always been with them. That prayer will always be the safest path to encounter God. And they were invited to return to family prayer, with their neighbors, so the Holy Rosary is recited daily and for them to consecrate their lives to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, allowing Her to become their greatest intercessor through her advocation of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The material that was given to each family in this visit was:-The Codex of the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe- The Sorrowful Mysteries of the Mission’s Rosary- Scapulars- A RosaryAll families welcomed us with much love and availability. In the afternoon, Fr. Jose Fabian confessed the faithful before the celebration of the Holy Mass on Thursday. On Friday there was a procession and then the Mass of Consecration for the families and kits for the home enthronement of Our Lady of Guadalupe were handed out.
