This year 2018, is the 5th year where The Mission Peru has helped prepare, for over 7 months, the students of third Year of the Aeronautical Technological Institute of Peru’s Air Force (ESOFA) to receive the Sacraments of Catholic Initiation.
The ceremony of Baptism and First Communion of the students took place on Friday October 19th before their parents, godparents, and family members. The ceremony was celebrated by Father Erico Zevallos, Chaplain of the Institute. 28 students received the Sacrament of Baptism and 43 received their First Communion.
One week later, amidst more than 300 family members and friends, 86 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation and made the act of Initial Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This year in representation of Monsignor Juan Carlos Vera P. , Monsignor Guillermo Inca Pereda, General Vicar of the Armed Forces presided the Holy Mass. Likewise, at the end of this important event, the consecration of the Aeronautical Technological Institute of the Peruvian Air Force (ESOFA) was carried out by the Captain Pierre Vicuña Astuhuaman on behalf of the Director of the Institute, and by Monsignor Guillermo Inca Pereda on behalf of the military bishop. This act in which we give God the Father all that we are and all that we have, through the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary is much longed for by many students and faithful because it has been carried out for 5 years consecutively.
Finally, at the end of the ceremony, the members of the Mission were invited to the halls of the institution for a reception offered by the institution with the presence of Captain Vicuña, Father Guillermo Inca and father Erico Zevallos, chaplain of the Institute
