Consecration of the Archdiocese of Monterrey and the State of Nuevo Leon

As part of the Catholic Expo Monterrey 2013 "Asercat", which was held at the International Business Center Cintermex, the Archbishop of Monterrey, Msgr. Rogelio Cabrera Lopez, presided a Solemn Mass accompanied by bishop emeritus Jose Lizares Estrada, his auxiliary bishop Msgr. Jorge Cavazos and the bishop of Nuevo Laredo Msgr. Gustavo Rodriguez, where he consecrated his archdiocese and the state of Nuevo Leon to God, through the intercession of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. In his homily he said that "through this consecration they sought by the grace of God, that Christ may reign in the hearts of all and that the fruit may be peace for this state".12,500 people attended this event and made their personal consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Among them were present the governor of Nuevo Leon, Rodrigo Medina de la Cruz with his wife Gretta Salinas, along with his main collaborators; the mayoress of Monterrey Margarita Arellanes, as well as the mayors of Juarez, Garcia, Apodaca, Salinas Victoria, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Santa Catarina, Anahuac and Hualahuises, as well as representatives from the business, academic and social sectors of the state of Nuevo Leon.At the end, the Archbishop Rogelio Cabrera, proclaimed November 23rd as the day for the Consecration of the Archdiocese of Monterrey and the state of Nuevo Leon, which must be renewed each year in every parish, in every family and in every heart.
