On Saturday September 2nd, the Consecration of the Parish San Isidro Labrador took place in the Chapel Our Lady of Carmeln in the city of Caqui, Aucallama, 2 hours away from Lima. With approximately 75 faithful present, Father Lindauro Altamirano celebrated the holy Mass. During the homily, he said: “Dear brothers and sisters we need to fully give ourselves to God because all that we have and all that we possess is not ours, it’s the Lord’s. To Him we owe everything, therefore we should be at his disposition. Let’s not resist Our Lord, dear brothers, that’s why we should say: ‘Jesus grant us the gift of conversion’; its urgent for all of us. And today He comes to our aid through his Holy Word.”
After communion Fr. Altamirano recited the consecration prayer of the Parish to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and then enthroned the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. During the celebration 9 faithful also made their personal consecration after their due preparation.
The community bid farewell to the Mission’s team with beautiful songs and a gathering where they offered them ‘carapulcra’ and a typical dish made with dried potato.
