On July 8, Monsignor Julio Hernando García Peláez, was installed as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Garagoa.
The Apostolic Nuncio, Monsignor Ettore Balertrero, 40 bishops and more than 90 priests were present. Also all the personalities of the local government and the entire population of Garagoa filled the streets to receive their new Bishop appointed by his Holiness Pope Francis in mid-July of this year.
We delivered at the Episcopal House of Garagoa 14,000 rosaries, packed with a triptych with the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Mission. 5000 will be given to the Diocese of Garagoa and the rest were shipped on buses that arrived from the Itsmina-Tado Diocese to be delivered at the parishes of the Chocó Diocese Department. The mission has been granted the approval to work within the diocese and has a person who will be in charge locally.
