On Saturday July 19th at 5:00 pm., a large and fervent procession departed from the Basilica of the National Vow in memorial of the 140th anniversary of Ecuador’s Consecration to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The procession and Solemn Mass was presided by Msgr. Fausto Travez, Archbishop of Quito, President of the Bishop’s Conference of Ecuador and Primate of Ecuador, assited by the country’s clergy. The Ecuadorian President Gabriel Garcia Moreno, had the gesture of consecrating Ecuador during his second term. The president, deeply Catholic, took this step in support to the Holy See.
